We at Metelli S.p.A. believe that sustainability is the foundation on which we can build a prosperous and responsible future. Our mission goes beyond profit: we are committed to integrating sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations. We are proud to present our Sustainability Report, a document that testifies our commitment to the well-being of people, the environment and society.
“Every step we take on this journey is driven by our belief that companies must have a positive impact on society”
At Metelli S.p.A., we believe that true industrial progress is the one that takes people, the environment and transparency into account. This is why sustainability is not a standalone objective, but a guiding principle that shapes every decision we make. It is a responsibility towards future generations and a value reflected in our strategic vision, in our daily activities and in the way we relate to the local area and all our stakeholders.
In recent years, particularly in 2023 and 2024, we have strengthened our path towards the integration of ESG – Environmental, Social and Governance – principles within our organisation. A path that translates into concrete actions and measurable results.
We invested in renewable energy sources, installing photovoltaic systems that allow us to internally produce part of the energy required for industrial operations. We optimised energy consumption in our main production sites, significantly reducing the use of electricity and gas. These actions enabled us to reduce our overall carbon footprint, thanks to more efficient resource management and a constant focus on sustainable innovation.
We also enhanced initiatives related to waste management, prioritising recovery over disposal, and we promoted responsible water use through targeted water-saving measures. But sustainability, for us, goes beyond the environmental dimension. People are at the centre of our commitment. We believe in continuous training, in developing individual potential and in creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating working environment. Throughout 2024, we devoted thousands of hours to the professional growth of our employees, supporting this investment with initiatives aimed at promoting diversity and a sense of belonging. Our connection with the local community also remains a key pillar of our approach. We support social, cultural and sports projects that promote positive values, with particular attention to younger generations, aware that the future is built together.
In 2024 we also strengthened our ESG governance system: a dedicated Committee guides and monitors the implementation of our strategy, while we are developing a structured due diligence system for the entire value chain. These initiatives prepare us to face new challenges arising from regulatory and market developments, in line with the principles introduced by the CSRD and the ESRS standards.
We look ahead with determination, aware that our sustainability journey is constantly evolving. We will continue investing in innovative solutions, measuring and improving our impacts, and fostering a culture based on ethics, transparency and respect. Because for us, growing means doing so responsibly. Together.
Sergio Metelli, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Metelli S.p.A.
In its path towards increasingly integrated sustainability, Metelli S.p.A. has started a complex stakeholder engagement process, adopting the international standard AA1000 to ensure transparent, inclusive and systematic dialogue. Through a detailed mapping and an initial survey, the company has collected opinions and suggestions on ESG issues, which will be the basis for future strategic decisions. This constantly monitored and updated approach reinforces the company's commitment to sustainable and shared management.
Environmental: Environmental issues such as climate change, ecological footprint, energy efficiency, protection of natural resources and promotion of the circular economy, all issues deemed strategic for the creation of long-term value, were carefully evaluated.
Social: The active involvement of employees, the focus on health and safety, development of human capital, inclusion and well-being, as well as dialogue with local communities, represent the cornerstones of the Metelli’s social approach.
Governance: Great importance was given to the issues such as business ethics, regulatory compliance, product security, data protection and the integration of ESG aspects into the corporate governance system, in line with the expectations of increasingly attentive and aware stakeholders.
