Metelli S.p.A. integrates environmental sustainability into its operational strategies, committed to preventing and reducing the environmental impacts of its activities. The adoption of an ISO 14001-certified Environmental Management System ensures the constant monitoring of energy, water consumption and emissions, fostering the efficient and rational use of resources. The company has launched concrete projects to reduce waste, digitise information materials and transition to renewables. This process also includes the monitoring of indirect impacts, waste reduction and the elimination of harmful materials from products. These initiatives have contributed to the recognition of a silver medal in the EcoVadis ESG assessment.

We at Metelli S.p.A. understand the crucial importance of combating climate change and promoting responsible energy use. Our approach is integrated into our sustainability strategy, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of our activities and contributing to a greener future.

Renewable Energy

Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions

Metelli S.p.A. monitors and analyses its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to assess their environmental impact and promote medium- and long-term reduction strategies. The analysis, carried out by a specialist external team using the SimaPro software and the Ecoinvent database, follows the IPCC 2021 GWP 100a methodology to calculate emissions in tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e).

In 2023, total emissions amounted to 5,595 tCO₂e, divided between:

Scope 1 (direct emissions from combustion and business processes): 1,512 tCO₂e, down 15% on 2022.
Scope 2 (indirect emissions from electricity consumption, calculated with the "Location-based" approach): 4,082 tCO₂e, down 6% on the previous year.

This report is a fundamental step in the company's environmental sustainability path.

Photovoltaic Plant

A fundamental step towards sustainability is represented by our investment in renewable energy. We have installed photovoltaic systems, which allow us to produce clean energy and reduce our non-renewable needs.

We are studying how to extend this project, with a view to maximising our energy self-sufficiency.

Sustainable Production

Management of significant waste-related impacts

Metelli S.p.A. is actively committed to reducing environmental impacts through responsible waste management and the aware choice of materials and production processes. The company adopts low-risk solutions for the health and safety of its workers and the environment, selecting materials with high recyclability or with recycled content
