Metelli S.p.A. integrates environmental sustainability into its operational strategies, committed to preventing and reducing the environmental impacts of its activities. The adoption of an ISO 14001-certified Environmental Management System ensures the constant monitoring of energy, water consumption and emissions, fostering the efficient and rational use of resources. The company has launched concrete projects to reduce waste, digitise information materials and transition to renewables. This process also includes the monitoring of indirect impacts, waste reduction and the elimination of harmful materials from products. These initiatives have contributed to the recognition of a silver medal in the EcoVadis ESG assessment.

Renewable Energy
Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions
Metelli S.p.A. monitors and analyses its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to assess their environmental impact and promote medium- and long-term reduction strategies. The analysis, carried out by a specialist external team using the SimaPro software and the Ecoinvent database, follows the IPCC 2021 GWP 100a methodology to calculate emissions in tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (tCO₂e).
In 2023, total emissions amounted to 5,595 tCO₂e, divided between:
- Scope 1 (direct emissions from combustion and business processes): 1,512 tCO₂e, down 15% on 2022.
- Scope 2 (indirect emissions from electricity consumption, calculated with the "Location-based" approach): 4,082 tCO₂e, down 6% on the previous year.
This report is a fundamental step in the company's environmental sustainability path.
Photovoltaic Plant
A fundamental step towards sustainability is represented by our investment in renewable energy. We have installed photovoltaic systems, which allow us to produce clean energy and reduce our non-renewable needs.
We are studying how to extend this project, with a view to maximising our energy self-sufficiency.

Strengthening the waste flow tracking system; identifying solutions and partners for the recovery of waste as a secondary raw material.
2025 results:
During 2025, Metelli S.p.A. conducted an assessment of how it managed its waste streams, analyzing the feasibility of consolidating the service through a single specialized operator. The outcome of this analysis led the company to adopt a solution offering greater operational flexibility: strengthening its partnership with a trusted intermediary, with whom it collaborates on a case-by-case basis to determine the most efficient solution in terms of traceability, disposal, and material recovery.
The 2025 data confirm the soundness of the path taken: total waste generation stands at 2,840 metric tons (+12.5% compared to 2024, in line with trends in production activity), while the share sent for recovery reaches 93% of the total, equal to 2,640 metric tons (+13% compared to the previous year).
At the same time, a systematic analysis of waste streams has made it possible to identify a waste code with characteristics compatible with the needs of the recycling market, paving the way for its reclassification as a secondary raw material. The operational launch of this initiative, scheduled to begin in 2026, has already yielded concrete results: in the first few months of the year, the revalued material generated approximately 80,000 euros, confirming the economic and environmental potential of this approach.

Strengthen the waste stream tracking system, begin the operational management of the identified secondary raw materials, and continue analyzing additional waste codes that can be recycled, thereby progressively strengthening the contribution of waste management to the company’s circular economy model.
